AI Startup Boom: Warsaw Hosts 200+ Artificial Intelligence Companies

Warsaw has emerged as an unexpected leader in artificial intelligence, now hosting over 200 AI-focused companies — more than any other city in Central and Eastern Europe. A new report by Startup Poland reveals that the sector has grown by 67% in just two years.

Notable Warsaw-based AI companies include Synerise, which provides AI-driven customer analytics to global retail chains, and Infermedica, whose symptom-checking AI is used by health systems in 30 countries. Several new entrants have secured significant funding, including NeuralTech (Series B, $45M) and DataMind (Series A, $18M).

The growth is supported by strong academic programs at the University of Warsaw and Warsaw University of Technology, which together graduate over 1,500 computer science students annually. The government’s AI Strategy 2030 has also contributed, providing tax incentives and grants for AI research.

“We’re seeing the emergence of a genuine AI cluster in Warsaw,” said Professor Henryk Michalewski from the University of Warsaw’s Machine Learning Lab. “The next European AI unicorn could very well come from here.”
