Zachęta Gallery Unveils Groundbreaking Exhibition on Polish Digital Art

The Zachęta National Gallery of Art has opened “Pixelated Futures,” a landmark exhibition showcasing 50 years of Polish digital and new media art. The show, running through September, features works by 45 artists exploring the intersection of technology and creativity.

Highlights include an immersive room-scale installation by Ania Molska that responds to visitors’ movements, a generative music composition by Raster-Noton collaborator Krzysztof Knittel, and a series of AI-generated portraits that reimagine historical Polish paintings.

“Poland has a rich but underappreciated tradition in digital art that goes back to the 1970s,” said curator Joanna Mytkowska. “This exhibition aims to put Warsaw on the map as a center for digital creativity.”

The exhibition also features an educational program, with weekly workshops on creative coding, digital sculpture, and VR filmmaking. Admission is 25 PLN, with free entry on Thursdays.
