Warsaw’s already vibrant street art scene has received a major boost with the completion of the “Walls of Warsaw” project, which has added 50 new large-scale murals to buildings across the city. The initiative, funded by the city council and private sponsors, invited artists from 20 countries to transform blank facades into public artworks.
The murals span neighborhoods from Praga to Żoliborz, with particularly striking pieces on Stalowa Street, Wileńska, and along the Vistula embankment. Themes range from Polish history and folklore to environmental activism and abstract compositions.
Among the standout works is Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra’s 30-meter portrait of Marie Curie on a residential building in Śródmieście, and a collaborative piece by Warsaw’s NeSpoon and Japanese artist Aiko on a school building in Mokotów.
A free self-guided walking tour map is available at tourist information centers and through the Warsaw City app. Guided tours in English, Polish, and Ukrainian run every Saturday from the Palace of Culture and Science.
