Warsaw International Film Festival Returns with 200+ Screenings

The 42nd Warsaw International Film Festival is set to kick off next month, bringing over 200 film screenings to venues across the capital. This year’s edition features selections from 65 countries, with a special focus on Central and Eastern European cinema.

The festival’s opening night will feature the world premiere of Polish director Agnieszka Holland’s latest work, a drama exploring themes of migration and identity in modern Europe. The screening will take place at the iconic Kinoteka cinema in the Palace of Culture and Science.

Festival director Stefan Laudyn noted that this year’s program includes an expanded documentary section and a new virtual reality cinema experience at the Warsaw Spire building. “We want to push the boundaries of how audiences experience film,” he said.

Tickets go on sale March 1st, with early-bird passes available for 299 PLN. The full program will be announced on the festival’s website next week.
